This month, I’ve been bombarded by marketing promising to “fix”
my love life. Products to attract a soul mate, products to spice up
a relationship, products to get over a bad one… Quite an array.
Add to that the magazine headlines in the checkout lane, random
conversations with friends and strangers, and so on…

The message “I can fix your problem” sells. It sells products. It
sells magazines. It just plain sells. The problem is that it sells
the problem as well as it sells the solution.

Now, I’m not knocking these products. There’s some really good
stuff out there. And if you’re at a point where your higher self is
telling you it’s time to expand or grow in the area of love, by all
means look around for the right product to give you a boost.

I just want to remind you that it’s important to make sure your
assessment of your situation (and your shopping decisions!) come
from your higher self, your intuition.

Our delicate egos are constantly looking outside for validation.
While this is the mechanism that injects, “Man, I’m sexy” into your
mind when you see that certain look in a lover’s eyes, it’s also the
mechanism that concludes “I’m fat and ugly” after seeing too many
Cosmo or Muscle and Fitness covers.

Both of these ego messages are illusion. You are not desirable only
when someone else thinks you are. And you are not undesirable if you
don’t look like a model or have biceps bigger than your neck.

The truth is that you are the precious offspring of Source, which is
divine love. The tree that grows from the apricot seed must be an
apricot, because the apricot tree can only create that which is like
itself. In the same way, divine love’s creation can’t be lacking in
love or unable to love or only partially loving, because love can
create only love.

You are love, and you are loved. This holiday is a celebration
of you.
